Investors are scheduled to start bidding Friday on shares of Google, the most highly anticipated offering of the year. The Internet search engine said it would end the bidding and announce the price for the shares next week.
Meanwhile, the September issue of Playboy, scheduled to hit newsstands on Friday, includes an interview with Google (GOOG: news, chart, profile) co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page.
"The interview took place before the quiet period," said Theresa Hennessey, publicist for Playboy Magazine in Chicago.
A story in the online edition of the Wall Street Journal on Thursday, citing an unnamed person familiar with the situation, reported the SEC has examined the Playboy article, but has not decided whether to take any action.
According to the Journal, Playboy conducted the interview on April 22. Google announced its IPO on April 29.
