SCHAUMBURG, Ill., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT - News) today announced that Valerie Di Maria has been named corporate vice president of communications and public affairs. As a member of the senior management team, Di Maria will oversee the company's executive communications, media relations, industry analyst relations and internal communications. She will report to Geoffrey Frost, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, and begin her role 13 December.

Di Maria has more than 20 years of corporate, consumer marketing and business-to-business public relations and advertising experience. In her most recent role, Di Maria was vice president of corporate public relations and advertising at GE Capital, the $55 billion international financial services company owned by General Electric. Prior to that, Di Maria was president of the New York headquarters of Grey Advertising's international public relations agency, GCI, and vice chairman of the GCI Group. Di Maria also spent five years at the Porter Novelli public relations firm, where she was senior vice president/group supervisor and ran the consumer marketing practice.
Di Maria has a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from New York University.
