Banc of America Securities expects wireless handset growth to outpace Street expectations for 2005. "For the year, we expect handset unit growth of 18%, which we believe is higher than Street expectations of 10% to 12%," Banc of America said. "In our view, continued net add strength in emerging markets and a healthy upgrade cycle in developed markets is driving demand higher." Looking to the third quarter, Banc of America said it remains most comfortable with Motorola (nyse: MOT - news - people ) and Nokia (nyse: NOK - news - people ), both rated at "buy" with respective target prices of $22 and $23.
