And because women generally live longer it's important for them to pay extra attention to the details of planning for retirement. CUT: (Cooper) A challenge that many women have is if they don't understand the risk that they're taking, they may not be willing to invest in opportunities for growth that maybe they need to get involved with.

CUT: (Cooper) What are their short term goals, their intermediate goals and their long-term goals? And in looking at those three things, how that works into their risk tolerance and when are they going to need the money for those goals.
